about
We wrote and recorded this song in 2013 but somehow we decided to not put it on our first album UMA. After, with the second album it wasn't the right time either. Frequently we would remind ourselves that this song exists. We'd talk about the fun recordings at Babylon Kino Berlin, a place that has been shut down for most of 2020, the recordings of the trumpet with our friend Wolfgang below our bunk bed in summer 2013. But it never fit, the time didn't seem to be right.
This year doesn't feel right either, the world has been a an awful place since a while, but this year everything sort of came together. On a general level, but also on a very personal one.
There is voids that can be filled, some that are just there and ok to live with. Some that are bigger, black holes of sort, that want to suck it all up.
2020 feels like this kind of void.
But we hope, we hope we'll find something, within society really, that will be able to fill some of these voids with something, something that will help us to understand, to move on. To even change. Maybe.

Special thanks to Kino Babylon Berlin, for letting us play and record their fantastic organ.
UMA is the musical child of Ella and Florian Zwietnig, a Berlin-based duo whose visions for creating experimental pop music are often at odds with one another.
